Generator exhausts all have one of two options; either a welded on exhaust flange or a bolt on flange. As such, we offer exhaust extensions to accommodate either type.

To determine what you will need, you will first need to look at your generator and determine which kind of exhaust your unit has. If your unit is not listed in the model specific designs below, you will also need to measure the length and diameter of your generator exhaust flange.

In addition to exhaust extensions, we also offer quick disconnects, magnetic dipsticks, oil change tubes, and through wall kits which can be purchased individually, or are offered at a discount when purchased with your exhaust extension. Please scroll down through this entire page to see the details on these additional options.

Genexhaust products are proudly Made in the USA.

Exhaust extensions are available in two types of tubing options:

We offer both steel and silicone extension hoses. They both work great, yet certain applications may be more appropriate for one over the other. For example, marine and saltwater environments may be better suited for silicone hoses, or applications which would require frequently moving and bending the hose may be better suited for silicone.

Steel hoses, while also flexible, may be more appropriate for applications where the hose will not be moved as frequently. Steel hoses also offer more durability in a situation where the hose may be bumped into as it wouldn’t be subject to tears that could occur in silicone hoses if the hose was bumped up against another object. For example, if a hose will be carried around daily in the back of a work truck, then a steel hose would probably be more appropriate for that situation.

Steel Extension Hose

3 hole bolt-on with steel exhaust extension and quick disconnect

1” or 1-1/2” ID galvanized flexible steel tubing: Tubing is able to make a 4-5” radius bend (1” ID) or 6-7” radius (1-1/2” ID). The tubing will get hot and lose some flexibility after a few cycles. If running tubing through a flammable material, header wrap is recommended. This tubing is a standard automotive grade that forms and stays easily.

Silicone Extension Hose

¾”, 1″, or 1-1/2” ID silicone lined tubing: Tubing is very flexible and can make tight bends while the internal bronze coated wire coil prevents collapsing. This tubing will remain flexible after repeated heat cycles. Although this tubing does not get as hot as the steel tubing, the surface of the tubing will be hot to the touch and if running the tubing through a flammable material, header wrap is recommended. This tubing is a standard aviation grade tubing that can withstand temperatures from -80 to +550°F.

BOLT ON EXHAUST EXTENSION KITS

Bolt On Extension Hoses

Bolt on extension kits are available for various types of generators, and will accommodate universal generators with matching sizes. Hoses are available in 3 ft, 5 ft, and 8 ft lengths. Custom lengths are also available by request. Please contact us for a quote on a system that will fit your generator.

WELD ON EXHAUST EXTENSION KITS

Weld On Extension Hose

Weld-on extension kits are for makes and models that do not have a bolted flange. Several variations are offered to suit specific needs. Hoses are available in 3 ft, 5 ft, and 8 ft lengths. Custom lengths are also available by request.

Weld-on extensions will need to have the tip of the extension welded over the exhaust flange. The extension hose will still be able to be removed, either with a quick disconnect, or by unthreading the hose from the tip.

Universal weld-on designs:

  • Up to Ø11/16” (17.5mm) X 3/4” (19mm) long exhaust port with either no weld bead or weld bead under Ø27/32” (21mm)
  • Up to Ø15/16” (24mm) X 1” (25-1/2mm) long exhaust port with either no weld bead or weld bead under Ø1.0” (25-1/2mm)
  • Up to Ø15/16” (24mm) X 1” (25-1/2) long exhaust port with no weld bead or weld bead under Ø1-3/8” (35mm)
  • Up to Ø1-1/4” (32mm) X 1-1/2” (38mm) long exhaust port with either no weld bead or weld bead under Ø1-7/16” (36.5mm)

Through-Wall Exhaust Ports

Through-Wall Kit

Through-wall exhaust ports for 1” and 1-1/2” ID tubing are available to complete your project. These kits are constructed from stainless steel to give you years of trouble free service, and are available in Long and Short versions. The LONG version is for walls with a thickness of 8″ or less and the SHORT version is for walls with a thickness of 4″ or less. Inside wall mounting brackets and the proper clamp are included in the kit. Both single and double wall designs are available.

Along with exhaust extensions, top of the line magnetic dipsticks and oil change tubes are offered for some makes and models. During normal operation of a generator, fine metal shavings will develop in the oil thus causing significant engine wear. Our highly magnetic dipsticks are very effective at collecting these metal shavings; thus greatly reducing wear and tear on the engine.

MAGNETIC DIPSTICKS

Genexhaust Magnetic Dipsticks and Oil Change Tubes

Magnetic dipsticks are available for several types of generators. They are available in two options; anodized and non-anodized. Non-anodized tubes are made of aluminum, whereas anodized tubes are also aluminum, but go through a coating process that ensures that the aluminum dipstick will never seize to the aluminum block of the engine. This is especially helpful in marine and saltwater environments. The anodized dipsticks appear to be maroon in color.

OIL CHANGE TUBES

Generator Oil Change Tube

Our oil change tubes are premium quality and make changing the oil on your generator easy, allowing you to tip and drain your unit without causing a messy oil spill. We have oil change tubes that will fit several types of generators. Please contact us for more info.

Oil Change Tubes are also available in two options; anodized and non-anodized. Non-anodized tubes are made of aluminum, whereas anodized tubes are also aluminum, but go through a coating process that ensures that the aluminum dipstick will never seize to the aluminum block of the engine. This is especially helpful in marine environments and saltwater environments.. The anodized oil change tubes appear to be maroon in color.
